I really hope that one day SE will come with a Symbian phone like the 7610, 6600, SX1, X, etc. Too bad the Samsung D710 doens't have Bluetooth, cause it would almost be the perfect phone. (Next to the P** of course

McKinley, nice pics you posted!! I really am hoping that the SE K700 although only VGA can produce vivid accurate colors like that!!
From what I understand though, any camera (phone or actual) that takes a picture in low light without flash is prone to bad underexposure. Also, without an infrared sensor to pinpoint where your zooming to fine focus on your subject; will result in horrible pictures as well (that blurry affect).
Furthermore, the type of chip - CMOS or CCD - plays a significant role as well in picture quality. The old CCD chips were kinda ok, the new ones are much better, while the CMOS chips significantly better at produce real-life colours/finer pixels/clarity of any image.
Though I could be wrong.
McKinley, is that Samsung your using have a CMOS or CCD chip??
Anyone know if the upcoming K700 have a CMOS or CCD chip in its camera??

i think phones are not enough advanced to use cmos chips but i maybe wrong because i didn't payed much attention on these crap cameras....
though nokia pictures is really bad

but a lot can change, some hw and sw tweaks and voila! a 50% better pic....
for instance the 7600 review eldar had, the images were crap, but then when the phone actually hit the stores people found out that it has a good camera! maybe blurry when you move but a lot better than what eldar posted.....
but i really don't know i hope se s700 will have a better one....

I don't know what's wrong with the pic said to be taken with the 7610 but it cannot possibly show the true quality of the camera. That's worse than in the Nokia 7650 from 2001. Maybe it's the poor lightning, maybe it's the compression (the 7610's 1.0 MP image is approximately 350kb, that one is 250kb) but no one should look at only that picture and declare the camera is crap. I hope to see more pictures taken with the phone soon. Here's another one taken in fairly dark light:

I know it is hard for you to face the fact that this camera is everything but good, I don't want to be biased but a decent camera should not take a bad shot in any condition.
SO505is has a very good photo quality so I reckon we can expect the same to our highly anticipated SE S700.

It is a CCD sensor.
