Mophun is a lot more low-level than java. There are things possible in it that are very hard or impossible to do in java, but still I like Java better. The biggest advantage of java is that it's easy to use, and very open. There are a lot of samples online and all development tools are free. In fact, so free that I just released my first game for the phone, written in java!

Mophun is better for mobile phones, because this language is created for mobile devices. But u have 2 pay for most mophun games, because developers have to pay too for compiling their (own written) games! And that's not with java

@ofstairs - you're wrong,
everyone has to pay for mophun. wether it be to the rights to a game or for the software to develop it. which, by the way, is another reason mophun sucks. i think

saw that they were basiclly being scammed, paying for the rights to crap games and a piece of crap gamming engine and that's why they dropped mophun.

Mophun is a specific platform for developing games, and it's much faster than Java.

Mohun isn't really that much faster. One of the main reasons for why you think this (probably), is because Mophun is not open to just anyone, so only professionals produce these games. Anyone can program a Java game, and therefore there can be glitches in the process.
Also, Mophun is similar to a program, in which the language it's written in. Java, however, requires a type of buffer program, making it appear sort of slower, but it's really not, especially with the FW upgrade!!!
