Its not a PAGER its a phone (more of a pda than a pager). it has great web browsing capabilities and email/aim.

rappers had it in some of their videos because it was pretty 'cutting edge'.

it is not a rapper specific phone. i have one, a number of people at my school have them as well.

Yes exactly...T-Mobile are rather slow aren't they,or maybe its because the other networks were simply not interested in this.
