It was a long time ago I used Palm so I can't really give a objective view but I think there are a lot of GREAT Symbian software on the market. I usually get mine at www.my-symbian.com

I love my P900 but I would also like to play with a Treo600 just to compare it personally.

The treo600 is quite nice with the exception of a few things:
1. The battery is fixed, can't be replaced, doesn't last very long.
2. You can't actually switch it off at all. It has standby and that's it
3. Big. Fat. Aerial.
4. Screen is worse than the P900 when it comes to fingerprints
5. Keypad is too small and always there
6. Not so easy to "pick up and go"
7. Menus are all over the place
8. Screen isn't as colourful
9. They are far less reliable than the P900

However, the stylus is very nice, and the screen is a lot easier to use with fingers.
