im going to buy 3 p900s for £220 but and he wants to do it through western union

sounds dodgy mate, why would he sell you 3 for £220 when he could sell them on Ebay for £400 each. ask he to do it through a escrow service where you pick up the cost, and see what his response is.

Yes, I've heard a few horror stories about Western Union - I wouldn't touch that method with a barge pole!! Stick to things like PayPal which give you a certain amount of protection, and avoid Western Union like the Plague!
And another thing - read the descriptions carefully! There are a lot of these 'matrix' or 'pyramid' schemes about where you pay for a link where you can get this high-end £300 phone for 'just' £25 - probably a scam, look for this, generally at the bottom of the item description and often in small letters!!

Used western union many times, never had any problems with it. Its not cheap, but u have to pay always for the comfort.

i would still recommend an escrow service though for buying 3 phones for £220, if the deal is genuine and you say you will pay for the escrow service there is no reason why he shouldn't want to do it. If he says he doesn't want to use an escrow service then walk away as it isn't worth risking £220. Also where did you get this offer for 3 p900's for £220 is it on ebay? or was it via a PM from a seller?

just be aware also though that there are a few people selling phones who suggest escrow services which in fact are also scams, often run by the same people selling the phones
