I've emailed the photo to SE.
I don't suppose they'll reply until sometime next week now, but at least the phone still works.
I just can't understand what's happened.
It seems to me like a software issue, rather than hardware, but I upgraded the firmware and tried it before I restored all my contacts etc, and it was exactly the same.
Wherever there's light you get that psychodelic stuff going on.

I've checked every setting I can possibly think of. It's really annoying me!!!!

Is the recovery option likely to be any different?

I know such things are really annoying but if you have the latest firmware i guess the only option is to take it to a servicecentre and see if they can repair it.

Seems to be quite a common problem from what I've heard. Must be hardware too. Hope it's under warranty/insured!
