===================
Ericsson had to perform a one for ten stock amalgamation a couple of years back to maintain their Nasdaq listing because the value of their 'B' shares had dropped below one dollar.

So comparing like for like, Ericsson's shares are only really worth around three dollars - considerably less than their peak of twenty-six dollars, reached four or five years ago.
===================

1-for-10 reverse split happened in Oct 2002. The stock price comparision quoted above was for the period between Mar and April 2004 - little over 1 month. 1-for-10 does not come into the picture.

So Nokia share price dropped 37% in a month and 1/2.

On April 6, an earnings warning issued by cell phone giant Nokia (NYSE: NOK - News) prompted investors to punish the stock, pushing it down almost 19% to $17.21.

Ericssson AB (ERICY) is not SonyEricsson, but is a pretty fair comparision for the purpose.

Yes the timespan is short and any prior stock action does not count. The actual stock prices do not count as well. What matters is the percent change in recent days. Nokia dropped big!

I know SE is not listed. It's a joint venture between Sony and Ericsson. This means part of the earnigs of SE will go to Ericsson. This will reflect in Ericsson's stock price if properly valued (to include the appropriate portion from joint ventures).

I'm a financial analyst.
