I used hotpop constantly which worked perfectly fine, but then I switched to Cingular (big mistake, but I wanted there cheap GPRS), and I can’t even use e-mail on the phone!

Hotpop doesn't like attachments, though. I can send mail, but when I attach a picture from the Communicam, it craps out.

Try talk21, its free. I just got mine working on my T68m (tahnks to help from Cytech) and it works fine to send and receive.

Harley,
I had been using myrealbox for quite some time now.
It's been quite reliable.
POP server is 192.108.102.201
POP port is 110
SMTP servier is 192.108.102.204
SMTP port is 25
Once you sign up at their website, it should work over CSD on VoiceStream.

JohnM,
It doesn't look like the talk21 is POP3/SMTP compliant, meaning you can't use the T68's built in e-mail client -- do you access that form the e-mail client, or from WAP access? . If it is POP3, and I can't see the settings, do have the POP3/SMTP settings? Having some more open SMTP servers in reserve can never hurt, given how they are all dissappearing.
Thanks,
Jeff

@jeff > talk21 is pretty good. I use the pop3/smtp email client on my T68 to access it with no problems. I can access it through WAP too, but prefer not to. The POP3 server is 194.73.242.51 POP3 port 110, and SMTP is 194.73.242.12 SMTP port 25

Jeff and GMG,
Thanks for the information on how to set up the email, it works great, I was wondering if you could tell me how to attach a picture after having taken one with the communicam.
Thanks
Harley

Hi Harley,
I am assuming you are asking about the newer MCA-20 Communicam. Well, once you snap a picture, the e-mail process with attachment is self explanitory. You just press the "send" option, after you click (as opposed to save, or whatever else it offers you), and the attachment automatically attaches, and you se tthe address, and send.
However, if you save the picture, it first will save on the communicam. If you want to send, you have to go to the picture, press the option button on the T68 (above the 1), then do a send.
If you copy or move the picture onto the phone, then when you are doing your e-mail, go down to the attachment part of the mail, and click on it, and all your pictures (and audio's) on the phone will come up, and just select the one you want.
