@v_max: You have got a good point there. That is a very reasonable explanation, though the p800 does have changeable sms tones

Hey! Wait a minute... Please rest your eager fingers...

First some of you (boyi, bobafett, Elrond and KiMcHeEbOi) tell me that there is already a thread on this subject and that this thread therefore should be locked.

Then some of you (boyi, TheRealSpawn, -V-Max- and Bianca) get off topic. Now this thread, all of a sudden, is more or less about SMS alert tones.

That seems a bit strange to me...

The intention of this thread was primarily to get replies from some SE employees themselves, but obviously I didn't made myself clear enought.

Either everyone stick to the topic or someone might as well close the thread. Thank you very much in advance!

They do use the feedback - I assure you - but thats not the same as everyone allways getting everything they want. Descissions on how to use feedback are prioritized on many things like how many wants specific things and what does it cost to implement, is it important compared to competitors etc. etc.

Just cause a few people request a specific feature doesnt mean that its costeffecient or marketingwise to implement - theres allways lots of considerations to take into account and often the requestors of specific features are not aware of these considerations. They simply get so caught up in there specific request that they tend to forget the bigger picture - and then often when they actually do get their requests filled find some other litle thing they simply cannot live without.

You see it all the time - 6 months ago everyone was on about we wanted a litle more than 2mb in our T610 - just a litle more and we'd be happy - then the K700 is announced with a whooping 32mb - and now you find all the same people nagging about 32mb being to litle and why the hell did S//E not put in an mmc slot for their mp3player.

They completely fail to see that it could have to do with costeffeiciency. Lots seem to think that K700 and N6230 are direct competitors - and nags about the missing mmc slot - well, K700 has a better more expensive screen, better more expensive polysynth, alot more (expensive) onboard memory which makes items load alot faster than if it was loaded from a memoryslot. Imagine what the productioncost would be compared to the 6230 if they also had to include mmc slot. It would be impossible to have a comparable salesprice of these models. And S//E cant very well cut down the other things just to get the mmc slot - cause no S//E user with a T610/T630/Z600 etc would accept the nokia screen or the nokia polys in ther new K700. But some just never gets satisfied no matter what. Some seems to think that their should be only one phone that has everything - and naturally it should have to also be cheaper than the competition. Lets give S//E a litle room to make a variety of models instead I say - and lets look at the bigger picture and what else we get in S//E phones compared to others - insted of focusing so much on one specific litle detail all the time.

No offence intended to anyone specific in this thread, especially not you boyi or the sms alert thingy - its only a general observation.

PS: Bico - sorry for replying to an offtopic remark in your thread - it wasnt really clear in the topic that you only wanted replys from S//E employees

i don't think one employee can do that, or maby the SE president is reading along...
dream on guys

there have been some request by more then half of the users (heavy or vetran) and none of that has come true, and some of those requests were very possible to do but it looks like SE are just doing there own thing.

It is not a question of getting new phones on the market quicker but of keep them secret for a longer time. All these new phones not on the market yet makes people wait with buying phones. This message was posted from a T610
