guys... not any of our busines is it?

kim: think long and hard how much money you will need on a monthly basis for housing, food, clothing, transportation and tuition. Leave nothing out. Start noting down NOW how much you spend for all 'daily' stuff such as food and laundry and such.

What kind of job are we talking about?

Are you planning on full time school and part time job, or part time school and full time job?

Try finding roommates (share the rent )

It won't be easy mate... if you're determined to do it all by yourself.

@kim: is your family prepared to pay for you to go to college away from home, even if it's only partial payment? if so that might be a (slightly easier) way, but you will still need a job. and you can always elect to stay at college during vacations if you really need to, and even if not you may still be able to cope wtih the brief periods you need to spend at home.

guys thanks once again for all you help.

it's like this-my parents are conservative (I mean CONSERVATIVE) christian fundamentalist wackos and i gotta get out of that hellhoel. I'm trying to live my life and enjoy it, and then my mom tries to impose a 7 pm curfew on me ?!?!?!?!!?

I usually get home at 11-12~ish on a good day.

They expect me to be perfect and do everything they want me to do, and when i disagree they start yelling up a shitstorm at me. For example, I believe that sex is part of a strong relationship and it can also be just for fun at times, they wont budge on the issue. Just for having the "talk" (and i had to initiate it!) with my parents they got psycho paraniod on me for the next 3 months. i'll admit i have done some crazy shit but its all part of growing up and living life to its fullest.

I've tried to be a 'good son' and i respect their beliefs, but they take no consideration of my core values and expect me to believe the same things they do! What if you were a religious and someone forcefully tried to convert you to another religion, and when you didnt listen tried to take away your property and privileges?

That's why i gotta get out of my house. It's not some petty squabble over some stupid fight like doing the chores, but its because my parents refuse to respect me and my beliefs, even though i do the same for them.

I'm sure my parents see things differently, and my little essay is biased towrds my "side", but this is why i have to get out of the house.

Definitely not the best move - Honestly, even if your parents aggravate the hell out of you, as mine did when I was your age... you're better off at least maintaining a decent relationship with them. You may or may not need their help in the future, but you'd be much more secure at least know they are there.

As for preparing... I wish it were that easy. Find a job, save up for a few months. Once you have money to manage, you'll suddenly have bills showing up - this is the way things work. Just wait.
