ok. so here is my design for a P900 controller. it would have a clip to "lock" it onto the P900 going around the back. that way it would be stable and you could play without removing the flip. what do you think?

or you could lengthen it a bit and put buttons on each side of the screen.

Why is it that the EGB-10 only works on Z600 and T630 phones, but it won't work on the T61* models? That would have easily satisfied my needs
Ok, now i feel dumb, i found an answer to my own question...
"Whilst the EGB-10 is designed for the Z600, it also works with the Sony Ericsson T610. Please note that the blue clips, which hold the Z600 in place, do not hold the T610 in place due to the smaller width of the T610. Apart from this, all the other EGB-10 features work as they do when attached to the Z600."

Of course, there is no software support for the gamepad on the p-series... and its not certain that its even possible to write any.
I did some investigating a while back and only way it would work is if the pad uses a plain serial interface (rather than something SE specific).
Also, if someone did manage to talk the gamepad in a symbian app, that wouldn't mean you could necessarily use it to control any existing games. To make it actually useful you'd have to write some pretty extensive software that allowed for mapping gamepad controls to any symbian keycode, as well as defining on screen regions and faking stylus click events.
Additionally this would have to work like the existing IR keyboard drivers, meaning it would be a separate pad-controller app that you'd need to keep running in the background (which means it wouldn't work for games like doom that close everything else).
