pockets all the way. i find cases (well the one i got free with the phone) make it too bulky, and i don't want to attach it to my neck or anything. I've got large pockets, so i can whip it out and snap any photos i want quickly.

just leave it in my pocket, i did buy a cheap (99p
) see through plastic case. But i found it made pressing buttons etc harder. Cases are always a bit of a pain on phones with joysticks, and you can't take any photos with it in a case (unless it has a hole in the back).

and its all right in my pocket.
I have a screen protector which was a digital camera protector from maplin, very usefull.
