Some good ideas, mate. A lot of small ones (like the SMS counter, etc etc) that made me think how useful that would be!

64. Built-in MiniGPS Program

Seems a bit like the suggestion of an in-built editor of MS documents....it could be incorporated, but doesn't seem that much of a priority when external software does the trick.

Certainly MS Pro compatibility is high up on my wishlist! (even if it does mean selling the phone to cover the cost of a 1 gig card)

§49 is illegal in many countries. I don't know what the US FCC has decided, but in Sweden, Bluetooth cannot reach longer than 10 meters.

Apart from battery life there is another major limiting factor in adding new features to the P1000, consumer demand. SE have to market these phones and the primary market for the P1000 will be business users, therefore they won't be packing in unnecessary features that business users are unlikely to use.
The mini GPS system is a good idea though, perhaps they will implement it; the NEC 616 has a GPS system built in, so it is certainly feasible.

I'd also like a better video-recording feature. The clips' resolution is a tad weak, not to mention the awful lossy compression which makes non-close-up videos hard to watch.

Actually i would love to see a non-camera p***, i just don't think cameras are usefull (in phones) even 1.3 mp ones.....

oh and i think a double slot for cards would be really nice (for an example the h2210 has a cf and an sd slot) so that you could use either sd or ms duo (well i doubt this because it's sony tactics to push their format to the limit, but on the other hand you have nz90 which also has a cf slot.....)

anyway an ideal p*** phone would be:
wi-fi
bt 20m
262k screen (and a higher resolution maybe 300*480 or something like that)
more ram (at least 32mb)
sdio and ms duo pro slot (so that you can buy accesories like gps and a 1.3mp camera like the ones used by ipaq's...)
no camera
umts (well maybe edge too but my operator only supports umts so....)
a nice design

It's the design that worries me the most; I really hope that they continue to pay attention to the aesthetics of the device and not let things slip.

I'd be more than happy with a decent camera which works well at night and in the dark and memory cards that go up to 1gig in size as well as some movie conversion software bundled which removes the hassle of having to experiment with many different settings to get the optimum performance when converting videos to mp4

@bart

I agree with you, but if you check the post in which I mention the business market you will notice that I refer to it as being the primary market they aim such products at, not the only one.
Early adopters do contribute to their sales of course, but business users will make up the mainstay of those buying the P900 or the P1000 when it is released. My point was in reference to that.
