I have this one ......
PQI USB 2.0 Travel Flash 6in1 CF/MD/SM/MM/SD/MS Portable Reader
Cost: 9.13 from ebuyer. I dont know if they still do it but its excellent.
Dont buy a single format reader as my experience is that once you have it you tend not to stick to one memory card format. My camera uses CF and the phone is memory stick and my son has SD. The price difference is worth it.

Very valid point. I had thought about that...but I only use Sony MS and related products. So there really is no need for other types of memory
I suppose that the multi reader option only makes the reader heavier / larger

the multi format reader is larger... less than 2"-4" approx in total. it comes with a little soft case for it.
on usb 2 the speed is not bad, I got a usb 2.0 card from ebuyer which was about £8 I think. I also have a small usb2.0 powered hub which sits on my desk.
usb 2.0 is the way to go, its faster than firewire I think.

there is a difference between usb 1.1 and 2.0 concerning the speeds.. i think the speedlimit is caused by memorystick... anyway its quite fast... i use it also as sucessor for my old floppy... and im happy.. i dont know with the speeds, but i think u can copy 128mb in 1-2 minuttes or so...

480Mbps is the general top speed for a USB 2.0
And they say thats 40 times faster than normal USB 1.1
