I think the number you have posted is for WAP only.

Since It's not an se phone You're using that prolly won't work. Try *99# that is pretty much standard for all other models and prolly for a network card too

Thank you all for your valuable information.
The service provider I'm using is Rogers Wireless in Canada.
The working GPRS number is *99***1#.
but for the 2nd last digit (1), how do i know how many CID i have on the SIM card?
The problem i am facing right now is I have a hardware device, it's like a black box on a plane. I put this device in a car, and it will send the status of the car thur the GPRS to an IP i specified (it's a PC).
The problem i have is the device doesn't send out information. So the initial problem I could think of was the GPRS number ( i know my userid and password is correct since I can just copy it off my T616).
That's the whole story of it.
Once again, thank you for all your expert input.

Go to Connectivity>Data Comm.>Data Accounts>Choose which one you want to choose and it tells the CID at the bottom of the list.

The problem could very well be that you're selecting the wrong cid (maybe your profile with cid=1 is set to use the wap gateway of your provider instead of the regular internet one).
I didn't know the profiles were stored on the SIM, but if that's true these are my suggestions:
1) If you're using the same SIM card in the device as in your T616, look for the correct CID on the phone (as Lynx69 suggests above).
2) Just try a couple of CIDs. *99***1#, *99***2#, *99***3#, *99***4# etc. Shouldn't be more than 5.

The cid IS stored on the phone, so it won't make the slightest difference. Have you tried *99# yet?
