Yep, secure pages are a nightmare when using proxies. Only way round it for storing cookies is to log in on dial up and tick store cookie. Then it should be there when you in back on gprs with a proxy. But that won't help ordering stuff.

Disable images next time you use dial up for the web. Much quicker.
