@dungeonmaster: why would the police throw you out the station? A crime's been comitted, they should investigate it.
Then again... the police in the UK will probably take all your details, then that would be the last you'd hear of it. they'd all be too busy catching speeders doing 33mph in a 30 zone....

If your phones stolen dont expect to get it back at all, just make sure the IMEI gets blocked so nobody can use it - unless they have the IMEI changed ( illegal but possible ).
A guy i work with had his N-gage stolen out of his locker the other day ( as the lock was broken so the thief just opened the door ).
The only chance he'll get it back is if we find it on a Bluetooth search if the person who did steal it is stupid enough to leave the Bluetooth on, with the same device name and bring it to work with them. If we do find it, we can just get our boss to open all the lockers to find it, and prosecute whoever's locker it is.

I had the same thing happen to me at school. I had to pay a 50 GBP charge for the insurance but now I, at least, dont have a vodafone live phone like i did before

. All the police did was put the theft into the book and leave it. I assume it had now been blocked.

Too true.
@DungeonMaster - My suggestion, if you have a dialup modem rig up your pc so it will redial your number until it is answered. So put the pc settings on unlimited redial and type in your mobile number and then let your pc get to work. Will p*ss them off in the end they will most probably answer.
Good luck getting your phone back mate.
