yeah, i saw that if i format my 128 duo as FAT32 will not be recognized in my p900! only if i format the card as FAT. I think that is only a software problem, no hardware. But i am 100% sure that sony will never release an upgrade to support msduo pro (unless i`m very much mistaken-copyright to masseur

).
maybe for p1000.
i`m happy with my 128 anyway.

well you have no otehr handset option of the p900 calibur so we must make do with multiple 128's i for one carry around 3 at all times. 2 with movies and one with oggs.

So what would you all do if SE only supported Duo's up to 128mb in the P1000 ?
I bet nobody would buy it !

You know sony did offer many firmware upgrades for all the SONY gear that didnt support the PRO which now does.
Im talking about, laptops, PDA, desktops, TVs, etc...... So I am thinking it must be also possible for our phones, But I know they will never do this.
Ive heard people say its a hardware situation, if it is, then why were these other devices were able to be upgraded throu a firmware upgrade?

hhmmmmmm....... Thats a good question. Are you thinking of getting a 512 PRO DUO and then part it into 4 so no part is geater then 128mb which states in manual?
I dont believe its the size thats not supported its the type of stick, and because NORMAL duos have a max of 128 because of there bad design in technology its impossible for sony to make bigger cards, thats why they moved on with a new type called a PRO, which is made from different technology.
So if thats you idea, it won work. Sorry, A PRO is just like a SD compared to a NON-PRO, different technology!

@Ari....
I doubt the validity of that 256mb DUO. Several companies have claimed to have 256mb + DUOs, but ofcourse it has all been misinformation. They were just in fact DUO Pros or Memory Selects which weren't even available in DUO size. At any rate, I'm currently in Japan and believe me if there is anything remotely close to a 256mb DUO I would more likely find it here then anywhere else. People are still gobbling up the 128mb DUOs for dirt cheap here. Being that the majority of high-end mobiles are of 3G format they utilize the DUO PRO format hence no need for DUO sized sticks. Not even the grey market area of Japan has any buzz words about higher capacity DUOs.. So check your source and find out who supposedly planned on manufacturing this. Chances are it don't or won't exists.
