As I have predicted before, the Nokia 9500 will certainly 'outbest' the SE P900. I am just wondering now, what will SE's next move/release of celfone model that will replace the present P900 ?

I would have to agree with Boinng on this issue, the 9500 is a completely different type of phone from the P900 in terms of design, and therefore I don't think that it is very prudent to make a comparison between them.
The 9500 has higher specifications than the P900 in terms of memory and screen size, etc but it sacrifices size and weight in the process. As Boinng pointed out, the P series of smartphones has been hugely popular and much more so than Nokia's communicators. The reason for this is rather simple in my opinion; people like to be bale to carry their mobile phone in their pocket without it making one look lopsided!
Once again I find myself agreeing with Boinng when I say that this thread is rather silly. As I have posted above, the P900 does have some flaws, but these can't be judged with respect to the 9500, a fairer comparison would be to compare the P900 to a similar specified handset such as the 6600.

@jojo51069

I don't think you can really say that the 9500 will 'outbest' the P900 for the reasons stated above, it would be similar to saying that a motorbike will 'outbest' a bicycle, they are designed completely differently and it isn’t really a fair comparison.

I belive this is a "mistake" alot of people make, trying to compare products that is not playing in the same division. And belive me, it is not just us amatures, a swedish magazine, M3, did a review of the Nokia 6230 in its June issue and there compared it to the SE P900!

Another thing, it is not right to compare any product that is out with one that has not yet been released. All IM oh so HO. =)

Even if the 9500 and P900 are in "different brackets", as is the 6820 or 6600, they can all be compared on the basis of:

* What functions do you need?
* How big can the package for the functions be?
* How much do you want to pay for it?

The P900 is for the people who want a full PDA-style companion and a phone in a package that one can live with carrying in one pocket. Basically, "large phone"

The 9500 is more like a small laptop, and has added features for the extra bulk.

Phones like the 630 do a lot less, but are also smaller and cheaper.

The 6600 and other S60 phones are good compromises for some other people.

Just like with computers: you cannot have a 10" size and light notebook with a 15" screen... sometimes you cannot have it all and have to make a choice.

Lets hope the upgrade to P900 includes full internet, wifi, long range bluetooth, duo sticks and MP camera. IMO that should leave the 9500 far behind This message was posted from a Nokia

With a bit of luck the P900's replacement will come with a chair to sit on and a tea lady to provide tea and sticky buns on demand!

@scotsboyuk - Probably you are right there mate, not making comparisons . . . But as for me, one 'sure' basis of finding out the characteristic/specs/performance of one fone is thru it's - P R I C E !
When the fone's worth - skyrockets, sure hell that it is one worth of a fone having!

Today I suddenly seen a laptop that did certain things better than my P900. Now I want my money back...

@jojo51069

Yes, P R I C E ! is definitely a mark of quality, anything that is expensive must be good. There is no point in paying less for something when you could be fleec ... er, I mean charged more for it.
