If charging in done in low voltage/current they you actually get a longer talktime even though the charging times are very long.
My uncle has a 6230 which comes with a ACP12 charger which charges the phone in 1.5 hours. However, he paid extra to also get an old ACP7 charger that takes about 4 to 4.5 hours to charge the 6230. Result...better talk/standby times...
