waiters can be real b*stards at times...
i was working as a waiter when god brought a nokia 3410 to my hands...
and no, i did not steal it!!
i found it, but didnt give it back to its owner, is all he had to do was ask.
I have never steal anything..well only as a personal revenge when im pissed off with the shop owner or something, but i never steal anything i need or want.

@lynx69 - Looks like the perpetrator is more interested with your 'contacts' rather than your fone - perse!

I had my Nokia 3310 stolen (i think about 3-4 years ago) by a teenager who rode by me on a bike and snatched it out of my hand while i was taking it out of my pocket. I was shocked as it happened so quickly, but i tried running after him shouting on top of my lungs ... "oi ... someone stop him, he's stolen my mobile ... please stop him!" but i couldn't catch him as he just was too fast and rode off and i by that time i was out of breath. No one really done anything to help me either.
I did manage to stop a person who did witness me running after someone on a bike and asked to use thier mobile to ring up Orange to get my phone barred straight away and in that time mobiles could only been barred on thier network. I know i changed the default security numbers to my own and had a sim pin number and phone lock activated so the thief would have needed to get the phone security unlocked in order to use the phone on other networks.
I was so upset and shocked of what happened. But thank-god i had Orange Care insurance and also my boy-friend was working in CPW at that time so he manage to arrange to get a replacement within the next day which was a Nokia 3330 (but had to pay an excess fee of £25).
I was walking to my boy-friend's the next day and i swear saw a boy who looked very familiar to the one who was on the bike and snatched my mobile, but i couldn't be sure as it just happened so quickly! I still wonder what happened to my Nokia 3310 and if its still out there being using.

Never had one stolen (thank GOD), but did however lose one due to carelessness in a Taxi. The worst part was, it was a gift from someone special; very special.
I was cell-phobic for the next couple of weeks and devasted. This was also the time I remained without a cellphone for over 5 months till I decided to buy k750i.
Still I am haunted, of the incident, for being so careless.

Never lost or had my phones stolen. Though my friend had lost his t610 in an auto(indian equivalent of a taxi with 3 wheels). Fortunately for him, the auto driver returned it. His father was mad with him and took away his se and he now uses a basic cdma device.

My phone was stolen a few years ago when I left it on the counter of a service station. When I went back half hour later it was gone. I reported it to the police, expecting to never hear from my phone again.
Then 8 months later some cops rang me letting me know they had my phone, but had found it on a junkie informant they were milking for info. They wanted to know if they could keep the phone awhile since they didn't want to charge the informant with mobile phone theft while the investigation was ongoing! So I agreed (I had a new phone by then)
About three months after that they rang me again to pick up my phone. They didn't need it anymore - apparently the informant had topped himself and they didn't need my phone anymore. They even dropped it back to me. Funny enough, I never actually got around to using that phone again....
