wont a theme change the menus looks? though so you only have to worry about the orange logo on the phone
at the end of the day its the cost of getting a phone for cheap you would be paying the line rental anyway so you may as well get a free phone rather than paying the sim free price all up front.
you still have to pay for calls texts etc and on contract you can get some good deals ie orange online 120mins xnet 250 text £25 a month
and a phone for bugger all
it always works out better for me any way but i accept some people find other ways better

Am I missing something here? I know that Vodafone changed the UI on the K700, but have Orange done it too? I have it on O2, and the only way it's influenced by O2 is the small O2 Services thingy in the top left hand corner, plus the startup and shutdown pictures, and the O2 theme all of which can be changed.
Anyone have any pics of what Orange have done to the UI?

Vodaphone is the larges cell phone provider in the world. So if you travel that is a good one to go.

Got it on o2, only thing that is customised are a few backdrops used for start up etc and the top left hand menu item is o2 services, other than this no further edits from them.
Memory @ first turn on was 40880KB
Been on o2 for past few years online 200 tariff (500 txt) for £30 quid, never had a problem. Wasnt due an upgrade till next month but they gave me my K700 3 days ago so was very happy

I've just upgraded on Vodafone. I have a high tariff, so they gave me a K700 free (and halved my line rental at the same time!). The Vodafone theme's pants, so I changed it to one of the pre-installed ones. Lots of the Vodafone live! services don't work with the K700 yet. May as well be called Vodafone dead!
I've also found a pretty major problem, which might be due to my particular phone, but could also be down to Vodafone. I can't use MP3 ringtones or alarm tones. At all. Not the ones included on the phone, nor any I download from SE website. I've not tried any other route due to the aforementioned Vodafone live! problems. I'm still waiting for a response from Vodafone on this (note: SE refused to support the K700 because Vodafone and O2 released it early).
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way round it?

Vodaphone DO disable MP3 ringtones, the only ones you can use are those you pay to download from Vodaphone Live. I sent mine back within the 14 day period and got one from O2 that was completely unbranded, just as SE designed it!

i would get it on o2. i got it for free on the £25 a month o2 100 contract from carphone warehouse

It is normally £70 on it.
my phone came with no branding and was unlocked
i simply showed CPW the o2 magazine showing they were doing it free on the £25 o2 100 contract and they said they will match it. i didnt get it from o2 tho cuz they were out of stock.
