You can also get T610s etc. unlocked at market stalls, but make sure that the person doing it knows what they're doing and doesn't bugger up your phone!
I got one unlocked for 5 gbp.
I've just got a T610, and replaced a broken LCD on it. I've gone into the service menu, and got all of the padlocks unlocked - but when I put a sim in other than the network the phone was originally on (Orange, UK) it doesn't accept it! Does this mean the phone's still locked to one network, despite the all the padlocks being open?
