which is strange considering the IMEI-db is international.... here it's the police that blocks the IMEI... (or so I've been told) although they start off by 'spamming' the phone with text messages to return it to the nearest police station as it is listed as stolen

Apparently this worked well as people could not sell the phone on... however I'm sure they've found a way around it (something like altering IMEI's) by now

But yes phones can be blocked to all use (at least nationally) by blocking the IMEI number by the sp.

Just because insurance companies are crooks doesn't mean we can be crooks =)

well thats wierd, because i own a cell phone store, and a "customer" brought in a phone that he was selling. It was used, fairly brandnew. It was a phone that was locked to "A" service provider. I put in "A" sim card into it and it didn't work, no reception bar sim card blocked, something like that. I unlocked the phone put in a "B" sim card and it works, I put back in the "A" sim card still doesn't work, flashed it and the same error occurs. Any help?

so because you believe all insurance companies are bad news, it is alright and completely justified that you scam them (even though they've probably NEVER scammed you) and we, the legit customers, end up paying more just for you. All part of the grand scheme of 'scam or be scammed' eh?

So personally I have no problems with my insurance but that is mostly due to the fact that thank god, I've never needed them. Should i ever need them, they had better come through though.

But people like you, you have no idea how lucky you are! You're just greedy, want more more more more more and you don't give a rat's a$$ who's paying for it, insurance or strangers or your sister, it's all the same as long as it's somebody elses wallet isn't it???
