Looks like the perfect answer to my hunt. I had a similar designed case for my ME45 and loveed it. It's kept the phone pristine. Does this new one have a hole at the base to allow battery charging without removing the phone... and if so, does it allow the rubber seal flap to open & close fully?

Thanks if anyone knows.

Sorry, I haven't found that out yet. There's no pictures of the bottom of the case. Hopefully since they've paid attention to the hole around the speaker they must for sure have fitted a hole big enough at the bottom so you could open the flap and charge your phone. Let's hope so.

Thanks Tommo21, I'll keep a look out. Here in HK I've found & tried two clear plastic covers. They are OK, but the first one had NO joystick hole so I had to cut one. The battery flap was also partially blocled, meaning you have to remove it to properly open/close it.

You also seal it with sticky flaps, which give up after a while. The case is definitely meant to stay on until replaced, which is was in pretty short order. It did the trick of keeping the phione clean during the sweaty-palmed first few days of fiddling!

The second cover is much better, with properly aligned holes for both joystick and camera. The same battery flap-gap problem exists, which was solved by simply cutting off the "retainer" parts of the case. It also closes with a popper. I'd prefer a case which the camera stays in full-time, and which has a belt clip, but for now, this second one does the trick!
