no need to close it. it would be interesting to hear back if that sorts your problem

edit: don't forget to make adaware update itself and if you haven't downloaded the new version from this year you will be using last years reference file as the new ref file is incompatible

Damn you beat me Masseur

To update Spybot jus click search for updates and then install the new ones. It may be the same for Adaware.

@jim, you're right and I always run spybot right after adaware although I have adaware pro (the one you pay for) which comes with ad-watch which is supposed to keep on eye on spyware in real time.

Spybot does often find a few things that adaware doesn't find but I have also found the reverse is true

together they are great!

don't have spybot, as it only scans and don't remove the files, cause I'll hav to buy it to remove, and I wont since AdAware is eaqulent and free

Its spyware!

Data Miner

A software application that monitors and/or analyzes the activities of a computer, and subsequently its user, of the purpose of collecting information that typically will be used for marketing purposes. The two most common forms of data miners are data mining programs that an organization uses to analyze its own data to look for significant patterns, and spyware programs that are uploaded to a user’s computer to monitor the user’s activity and send the data back to the organization, typically so that the organization can send the user targeted advertising.
