Please do NOT buy the Accompli008 ...
Everytime you have to use 2 hands to use it ...even to open it!

mdkia, I think you are a bit unfair ... I for my part quite liked the 008, and with the scroll wheel on the side it's possible to operate it, call etc, with one hand (it's just not terribly convenient...) And at least I could open it with one hand + it has Java

The Motorola phone software (GUI) engineers at Motorola will be the first against the wall when the great revolution comes! Why waste such awfull software on othervise technicly quite good devices as (M) does?

you can find cheaper iPAQs on the net, maybe a 3760 and you could buy a Bluetooth Jacket ...i.e. you can find here www.flca.it the 3760 for 550 euro.

Hmm,

I'm don't think the POGO is GPRS. It is normal GSM, but it uses a proprietary compression algorithm to reduce the size of the file before it is sent. It is then uncompressed on the handset. This gives the effect of browsing the real internet at dial-up speeds. They do look quite nice - I just worry about their long term future. The service relies on their server (does the compression bit) being available. I can see the big networks steamrollering POGO with their 3G stuff. What would be interesting is if POGO licenced their compression technology to the 3G networks. If the decompression algorithm is quick enough we may be able to get good video streaming. Who knows.

I didn't say it was perfect
A trick however is to turn of the phone part when you use a java applet, then it is faster, once again, not convenient but workable...
The 008, just as the scraped 009 (clamshell, color, built in keyboard, GPRS) is/was quite underpowered. I think I remember that (M) reused parts developed for other devices, to save money I suppose. I do not think that it is a bad device, but personally do I prefer a nice modern phone (T68) with a separate PDA (m515 in my case) these should ideally be connected by

No I don't have a Accompli 008 or 009, I just used them at Motorola, and they were WAY nicer than the T260/T250 I also had to use!

I got a t68i and a Ipaq 3870; That's the best combinaison. Ipaq is really great. I think that's better to have two separate module so you can choice what you really need at all the time and you can just carry a small phone if you want. GPRS and bluetooth connetion are really great
