afaik 7610 is not a smart phone... its just series 60. Regarding the keypad being lit, change the Light setting to automatic. Its in the display menu in settings.

A smartfone is growing over in case of features, apps etc of a normal fone. Compare p9 with a 7610 and u ll the difference.

the word smartphone came from ericsson. with there R380s. it was a phone that could do alot and the touchscreen made it easy and smart to handel.
so a real smartphone is a phone with a touchscreen.
i can perfectly understand why he sold his 7610 and went to a K700. but i can't understand why he bought the nokia in the first place?

Indeed, for sy with not many special wishes the 380 is a great solution even today. The only missing feature is gprs.

@bilksem - Thanks for the advise mate

But I would really prefer to have the 'light' in Battery Saver mode than in automatic, as I am fully aware of the battery life problem this K700i model fone is causing 'ALL' of it's users
@bart - Almost 'all' of my mobile fones (past & present) were Nokia branded ones . . . I am more at ease using it mate, I am only really fascinated when I saw the appearance of this K700i model SE fone, specially when @masseur made a full-review of it

But given the choice here again, I would definitely buy the SE S700 when it is already out, but it's not just practical anymore mate. . . I guess I'll just stick with this for the meantime - for about 5 years

if you worry about wavs just get pc soft like adobe audition to convert them into mp3s,it's very easy and mp3 are much smaller in size
