the technology to boost bluetooth up to 1km dates back along time. at cebit 2001 (or 2002) a swedish company demonstrated the blue2 pc adapter that could also go up to 1km.
but i'm all for new bluetooth applications and possebilities

You'd need something like Sman on a P series to bluejack them all, or a maybe a PDA that can drag a box over the whole list of phones and send them all messages.
But most Bluetooth devices can only connect with 1-8 phones at a time..
