hahaha - "practically blind" - nice one

well - havent been to impressed by pictures from the siemens new line of phones myself either. And yes we have seen other phones like the GX-20 taking good pictures.

Indeed the future is coming and it will be nice to see some really highquality cams later on

Well some people just expect too much for the current technology. VGA cameras are pretty new and people are already complaining, if people want the best photos ever just get a proper digital camera. Phone cameras haven't even been out for 5 years i dont think and people are already taking the s**t out of them.

Sorry but i didn't read one of ur posts, 4 long and detailed paragraphs...i don't like reading essays in a forum.

But anyway the camera is disputed to be good in light, crap in night. Nothings perfect but if u like cameras too be really accurate and not grainy, test them out first to suit urself

And to sum things up, I was tempted to make a side-by-side comparison of the K700 and the V600 cameras today under the EXACT same conditions.

K700-Bright Indoors


V600-Bright Indoors


K700-Dark Indoors


V600-Dark Indoors



I have not retouched any of the photos. The K700 is NOT any clearer in bright daylight and its lens DISTORTS a lot. All straight lines appear CURVED. As for low-light conditions, the K700 noise is very evident!

I hope that I have helped you get a clear idea of the camera capabilities of these two competing phones.

haki what shop is that??... no shops near my area do all the top phones!!

in my opinion i think that the top picture...(k700) is less blurry. V600 seems to hurt my eyes after lookin at it for 10 secs. Tho i prefere the colour on the v! Still both great pictures!

Good comparison shots - that is the only real way to compare pictures.
I agree in this comparison atleast the V600 comes out on top.

The v600 picture on top is more blurred - but because you are to far away from the fixed focuspoint both pictures gets kinda unsharp and you cant see it clearly enough. To really see the difference regarding blur/shapness you need to get closer to an object when taking a picture. Could you try taking another picture of a single object with more detail - closer to the object ? And preferable in optimum lighting (outdoor) - this only to test sharpness/blur filtering of the cameras.
Other comments - the colors seem a litle better on the V600 top pictures - and yes the fisheye effect caused by the lens in the outskirts of the picture is definately handled much better by the V600 (straight lines)


To describe what I mean with blur filter - take a look at these V600 examples - they have no noise - but they also have no detail because of the blurfilter. They have that faded, painted look. the same pictures would have been more sharp with the K700 (you would be able to read the licenseplate better) - but they would also have more noice.





Compared to these I took with the K700 - below each Ive put the same pictures with a 1.5 pixels gaussian blurfilter to simulate how they would propably have looked from the v600 - just to illustrate what I mean by blurred look:

By the way, the first set of photos was taken inside of one of the 300 "Germanos" stores all over Greece.

Unfortunately I don't have a K700 with me this afternoon but I ran out and took a couple of shots with the V600. They appear good to me. Not crystal sharp, but sharp enough by VGA standards.





I can have two side-by-side-under-the-sun ones tomorrow noon. Let me know what you think.

We have turned this post into a K700 vs. V600 battle but we might be doing something creative...I hope!!!

Good pictures there - nothing to complain about

I do hope people dont read this as a direct k700 vs V600 battle - I feel we are simply 2 adults having a good creative debate in a friendly spirit comparing pros and cons of 2 different cameradevices - just like we would do in real life. This for me is only positive because this gives me (and hopefully) others to a chance to learn more that maybe we werent able to learn otherwise. So nothing but thumbs up from my part for your inputs - they are highly appreciated. Im learning as we go along

One of the reasons I find this especially interesting is also - because I ordered a V500 for my kid a few days ago and will be getting it on thursday (and getting it flexed to V600) - so even if I have a k700 myself I have a personal interest and hope in the V500 being a nice device

I think we are now offering other forum members some useful info and I am pleased at the fact that this "presentation" is running very smoothly. I also appreciate your input a lot! I'll post two car photos tomorrow taken simultaneously with the K700 and the V600...hopefully under sunny conditions since this has been a cool and often overcast summer here in northern Greece!

I think personally the K700 looks better overall, but the dark areas it does look a bit...no good.

But i think overall the phone is great considering how many capabilities it has. But the photo quality isn't as bad as some Nokia phones like the 3200

I could not get a side-by-side photo with the K700 and the V600 today but I took one with each at a medium lighted bar last night. The most notable thing is that the colors of the K700 are very wrong. Nothing is blueish in there! Night-mode was NOT used in either device.
