I really thought that they've learned their lession from T610/T616/T630.... 2mb is poor for an 3g phone

Does insufficient internal memory affect the phone's performance? Eg speed of menu?

There is 2mb built go memory on the phone, and 32 on the ms duo. The memory does not affect the phone at all.

An insufficient amount of internal memory will probably not affect the phones performance, at least not to any great extent. The internal memory is used for the operating system, the firmware and user data. The external memory card is used for user data only.
A couple of MB of free internal memory available to the end user can impossibly be considered insufficient in this specific respect.
However, the phones performance might be affected when writing data to and reading data from external memory cards, as it's always somewhat slower than writing data to and reading data from internal memory. It might also be affected by the total amount of memory used.

You can't save Java games and MMS on the MS Duo... and my internal memory on my Z1010 is full now and I want to be able to get more MMS without deleting some Java apps and games.

Well the obvious reason for sony ericsson for doing this is, if it had 32 mg of iternal memory + 32mg MMC people wouldnt wanna buy the k700 as much. If there gonna be around the same price then the only reason why people will buy k700 over the z1010 would be because of the size. Not only this but now they can make more money cuz people are gonna wanna buy bigger memory capacity's!!

I think thats a legit marketing reason. Im sure it is possible to pack all the latest features into one phone, but phone companys would not do that in a long long time (until they run out of ideas). They would rather put somethings really good in one handset, then in the next not put in the exact same good things but instead put new things to that the phones dont kill each others sales. (Nokia exhibit this behaviour so freely that Ive started to hate them.) THATS why the z1010 has 2mbs of mem instead of much more
ofcourse thats only my opinion

I could understand if the Z1010 and K700 were in the same league ie both 2.5G phones, but as they not and as one is meant for the 3G market I cant see why SE would be worried about effecting sales!
