yeah the prices were always strangely widespread but i'm not fussed. As long as i got the phone i was happy, outright is the best way to go. Well thats my opinion, get it over and done with

bought my phone overseas in SIngapore and took it in to a service centre in Sydney. They said it could not be upgraded as it was purchased from a foreign country.
This was a couple of weeks ago and they said new firmware was available.
Not sure if I believe them saying it is impossible.

I have R2L001 firmware & this firmware gets rid of 95% of all bugs from previoues firmwares.
Easily the best firmware out there. Don't know about upgrading to it though, got mine from Optus for free(upgraded my contract)
This is the latest available in Australia or any where else apparently.
Only probs with my phone are;
*Battery life is pretty crap; charging it almost daily
*Occasionally when you press the camera button on top left it powers off & on
*Names in contacts were showing wrong numbers when you browsed through them, but after searching this forum that is fixed now.
Overall, easily the best phone I've had. I've come from Siemens M55 to this & I'm pretty sure I'll keep this for at least 2 years... I mean how much better can a phone get? Camera...? Video...? They're just novelty, if you want a real cam buy a digital!

I've upgraded to R2L from R2A using the online update service. I bought my phone from malaysia and the SE centres here said that it is impossible to upgrade my firmware if I buy my phone from overseas. The online service seems to work quite well and I notice much improved battery meter and one day extra battery life. Just borrow a DSS 25 from someone who owns a P900. The online update took me about 15 minutes from installing everything i need to downloading the firmware and everything.
