That's a pretty weak reason to buy or not buy any particular phone!
I wouldn't expect any great quality recordings from FM Radio & not to mention u'll get talkin on the ends of songs!

Plus to record from the radio in a good listenable format, such as MP3 your K700's memory would nosedive.
Until i see proof, whoever says they can get their phone to record the radio, to me anyway, are liars.

Ive got an XDA2, it can do everything else. secondly, we're not here to discussing the reasoning behind why i choose a phone. im not expecting quality, just good enough.
Twista

It seems that may people are in denial. why they find it hard to accept that their phone has the capability to record off the radio, while it has a built in voice recorder and a radio, i find to be ignorant. Its a firmware thing, that means even your k700 etaab could do it. I bet that makes it so much more believeable now, hey?
I apologise for my moodyness.

Why on earth would i be in denial ?? id love my K700i to be able to record the radio, it would be a great little feature. However, like i said, until i see proof of this feature and whether it be in a future firmware or not i wont believe people who claim they have the feature... when nobody else has reported they have !
Like Ewok^ said, its probably BS. I dont see why SE would put such a feature into their phones either. It would eat up memory very quickly unless you recorded the radio in very poor format, you'd get other radio noise in your sound files like the DJ talking, and that background hissing noise you get on analogue radio stations. Im also sure there might be legal implications for SE if they were to allow their customers to record full tracks from the radio, use them as MP3's or as ringtones - music you'd normally have to buy in the high street.

The reason i started this thread is to find proof of whether it exists or not. When i heard about it, i didnt start my sentance with 'its BS!!'. Im trying to find out, with an open mind.
You said "I dont see why SE would put such a feature into their phones either."
"id love my K700i to be able to record the radio" and I said it would be my reason to get a K700. you've answered your own question.
DJ talking and anologue hissing - you'll get that from recording off any radio. so we're expecting it.
Legal implications - definately! but you live by the law in your region. thats prob why european k700i havent got it.
Im not saying it has and im not saying it hasnt, im just saying some might.
