well, everybody was asking for duo pro support on the P800 before it was released and nothing became of it.

I'm not really hoping for duo pro support unless they can make the MP3 player interface really good. But if they make a very good mp3 player interface with playlist ability, duo pro support will become a must.

I posted this in a different thread D'oh! Just my thoughts:

On the question of whether the S700 will support MS Duo or MS Duo PRO, as I understand it, the PRO versions start at 256MB in capacity and go upto about 2GB (from Sandisk) whereas the non-PRO version is available upto a max of 256MB (i think or is it just 128MB?)

So if somebody can say for definte that the S700 will support upto 1GB, then it WILL be DUO PRO compatible. (Someone in another thread mentioned that they'd spoken to someone at SE and had been told that S700 would support MS Duo upto 1GB.)

As an aside, the MagicGate technology is a security feature for commercial protection of the data/ programs, eg games and applications. This helps to prevent ppl from copying them, I guess.

P910 has been said to support MS DUO PRO up to 1 GB. This can also be verified in P910 pressrelease and users guide.

For S700 nothing is mentioned about 1 GB anywhere. Not in pressrelease and not in white paper. Until this is changed, MS DUO up to 128 MB is the only confirmed info we have. Everything else is whishes and rumors we can not count on or confirm.

Damn! Ok, so why don't we all say we'll boycott the SE S700 if they don't put Duo PRO support in (or at least those of us who are interested in buying it!). In fact boycott SE and buy somethin' like a N*kia or perhaps the S*emens S65 or... or I've heard good things about the Send* X, perhaps?

Maybe if there is enough people letting it be known of their dissatifaction... if there is enough publicity (think of a stunt to grab attention), who knows? Maybe it'll someone high up (well, relatively) in SE a chuckle, if we're lucky!

Oh, well. Its a shame we have to throw that brilliant idea out, simply because it just won't work.
