@whiz good on ya to start this topic! :-D i think this debate will continue till eternity and will be filled with mixed reactions. The thing is i myself can't decide which is best! Maybe death penalty should be given in the rarest of rare cases. But law should be equal for all!

I'm against it. Killing is killing no matter how you put it. Death penalty is just a form of revenge which unfortunately is a virtue for some people.

I'm with Jabe and the others that think that the death penalty is simply some kind of revenge thing.
I personally would like to see them rot in jail for the rest of their life - let them spend it realising and reflecting on what they've done. And if they don't show remorse - they've still lost their freedom, and especially if they're a sex offender or paedophile, they'd be looking over their shoulder for the rest of their life as they're hated even by murderers and other prisoners.

The most horrible thing about the death penalty is that one knows the exact moment he will die. How would it feel waiting for death? The overwhelming mental tension that person may have suffered.

First murder or rapeing jail. When he is relesed, and do that thing again, I think it is totally right to convict him to death penalty. That man couldn't be healthy, he is sick, dangerous, and it is right to murder him!

I still don't understand what kind of justice justifies killing a man.
