As for the number, if you have an orange sim, with a number you like then you ring 450 and attach it, I provide a new and unregistered sim, which when you register it, orange give you your number.

Err, me thinks this is too expensive......... Orange did suceed in removing the free international texts and have subsiquently raised the cost to 20p per message which was the reason i left. The retentions department number i was given was engaged........ so off to o2 online i went
