Very popular her in the US. Some alcoholics like it, too. Plus here the rules are for the strength of medicines are laxer than in the EU.

hallå där! =)

Yo! It's kinda funny but I've got the same problem. I'm swedish and I really want to get hold of some NyQuil-bottles too. As I was browsing around looking for it on the net I saw that it might be possible to make an international order from www.drugstore.com. Check out:

http://www.drugstore.com/cat/[....]ault.asp?catid=15628&trx=28107

Read the section about international shipping a bit further down. I'm still thinkin of it allthough swedish customs tend to be a bit tricky. Anyhow, the same problem will of course appear if, as you requested, someone in the US tries to mail it to you. It will probably be even more difficult if the "mail from-person" is a regular dude instead of a big company as drugstore.com. But still, if there's a risk that the package will get stuck in customs, the risk won't be reduced with the label drugstore.com =) so I really don't know. You can always phone the customs at arlanda after receiving a letter from them regarding the packet and convince them to make an exception, I have actually done that with stuff worse than NyQuil =).

I really want to know how this turns out though, as I'm also interested in ordering some but don't have any money this very moment. So you can mail me at johan.lord@bredband.net if you got more questions or answers =) ...cya!

I cannot believe NyQuil is illegal in Sweden... It isn't THAT strong (although I used to take shots of it in class when I was in college to get drunk)...

I guess it IS that strong.

PM me if you still need NyQuil. I'll send you some - provided you are willing to gamble on Swedish customs. I take PayPal.

many over-the-counter medications are illegal outside of USA. Even between Canada and US, there are stuff that are non-prescription in one country but not the other. Elsewhere, they tend to be more stringent.

For instance, polysporin ointment for cuts and small wounds are prescription only(because it contains antibiotics). What harm can you do with an ointment?! Others include Oxy-10, Robaxacet(back pain),etc.

because people misuse antibiotics so much, antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria are present everywherem which creates a major health problem. That's probably why.

for example, we could cure tuberculosis or anyother mycobacterium sp. with, say, penicillin 50 years ago, but now we have to use stronger antibiotics on more resistant strains. Also consider the fact that staph, which is especially responsible for many nosocomial infections, has developed strains that are even resistant to vancomycin (one of the strongest antibiotics)!

That's kind of why...

ps. as a premed major and by volunteering in a hospital i've learned that this is one of the biggest medical issues in today's world...
