Yes the GPRS speed is a lot, lot faster and connection is insant. It may drain the bettery a bit more but I have the GPRS on all day and usually tun it off at night. I charge my battery every other day (although it could go a bit longer) and I make voice calls quite a lot.

If yours is still slow I would check your connection settings with O2 (was it O2 you were with).

4-5 seconds is way to long! Weren't you using the GPRS settings from The SE site? I seriously would try your operator (O2 was it?) and pester them until they sort you with their own settings! They should be able to text them you - I know you have had not much look with them!

I think if you use their settings then you're problems will be sorted!

Just ask to speak to a team leader when you call - this always shits them enough to sort out your problem! I speak from experience!

How many seconds do u wait for the average site? It may be as they are sending me a new sim card....prehaps that might make a difference, as i am still using a genie one with the o2 tarrif and gprs. Ill have to see when it comes i guess. I am using the settings from se web site. Thanks for the help mate

I have noticed one difference. When on "GPRS and GSM" the T68 disturbs my computer loudspeakers (the radiation from the phone I think), eaven when if I dont use the phone. But there are no interference when the setting is on "GSM only".

Well i have noticed no difference in speed. i hope it will improve with my new sim. If it doesnt , i may got back to gsm wap, the one good thing with gprs is it can be set up to check pop3 email on a regular interval which is great. (Of course when mms is avaliable on o2.....in about 27 years no doubt, it should be good!)

The other major differnce and probably the best one is that you can leave it on all the time at no cost until you transfer data! Works out soooo much cheaper for me!

If i'm aceessing a new wap site it takes acouple of secs but if I'm moving aroung say Esato it takes no time at all!

Hope you sort it out!

Please note that you can still receive calls while using GPRS when GSM only is the preferred service and voice calls are set to automatic. This post was posted from a T39
