Congratulations on a gr8 choice..!
Now to inform you that the firmware you had is the orignal one shippped but its been updated to R2L001 in most regions, seems like you have got an back dated stock.
Although many had problems with the R2A version, Some of us din't. I would recommend before you get used to the phone or brand it useless( Incase you have started with any problems) just stroll down to your Nearest SE service center and get the free update to R2L version.
This has been discussed endless times on the threads " Online Update for K 700i" well so far it has not been formally launched, I'm still awaiting like you are...Good luck with your phone.
