That guy who suggested VLC knows his stuff. Definitely the best player out there. I downloaded a video with the most obscure codec needs I have ever seen, some subtitle codec too... When I google'd it there was only one page and that was VLC's "We support" page.

The only drawback to VLC is it doesn't support Surround sound (as far as I know...), but if you have 2 or 3 speakers, it's by far and away the best.

My videos played both on Quicktime or Real Player. First time I went to play it, it said wait while Quicktime finds the right software for your file, after that it plays just fine.
