THE REASON why people call you meths is because NO-ONE can be bothered to write

'meths' is easier and quicker.
like i call vlammetje, vlamm, or bobafett, boba, and people used to call me dduk when i was daredeviluk but now call me vq or sometimes vanquish cos its easy to type fast!

@methylated_spirit your logic is flawed. True, meths is a shortened version of your name, but then again Trigga was a shortened version of his. He never proposed to change his name because people were shortening it, but because they were calling him by something totally different. So you are currently calling him by an abbreviated version of an obsolete name.
Let the man have his pride and call him by his chosen name.
