"well the dude only made the chassis and bought the parts (engine and interior). it should ride like an SLR, the only thing i can think of preventing it doing that is the weight difference in the chassis.

Twista "

obviously you dont know too much about cars! This wouldn't feel anything like a real SLR.

well he clearly did not build his own chassis, but used the one from the old car. It also looks like he reused his engine with a new mercedes plastic facia over it. I can't tell if he reused the suspension or not.

This car would have much more body sway, a much louder ride, be considerably slower and is most likely very frisky on the road. It would be nothing like the real thing, except in looks. The chassis and suspension are the two most important things in determining ride, and this car is far behind.

IMHO these things smell of total wee (esp. those mr2/ferreri things). I that thing costs £25000, you've got to be a total mug to buy it and then do all the work fitting it! Imagine your driving it thinking your the dogs nuts and you get people trying to race you all the time (which does happen to people with fast and expensive cars) and everytime your getting beaten off the lights!!!

p.s. these are my opinions and my friend sitting next to me

Well i think you're wrong. Do you think Corsa boy is going to try to race one of those things? Nobody tries to race supercars because a) You hardly ever see any, and b) you will look like a twunt. Null and void i'm afraid! And why not build one? Everyone wants one, but hardly anyone can afford them, so why not make a kitcar?

from my experiance corsa boys will definately race super cars (they will race anything for that matter). Most epeople will recognice the SLR as a fake straight away (naff wheels, wrong lights at the back,no exhaust pipes comeing out of the sides, the fact that it wont sound like the real thing, probably as slow as a pig). I think £25000 is a lot of money to spend on a fake

Some kit cars are OK - it depends on the donor. Eg. AC Cobra based on a Granada Scorpio 2.8i - as fast as Puck, not as fast as the real thing but just as likely to die whilst driving

Give the guys credit, they did a damn good job.

P.s Corsa-Boys (Nova as well) always try and race my Plymouth Prowler...

Thats her when I bought her last year...
