@masseur: That's exactly what I needed. Cheers!

And get this. The HID document from the SE developer site says:

"When using a Bluetooth File Transfer Protocol client on a remote device, the HID configuration files are found in the “Other” folder of the phone’s File Transfer Protocol server."

Now by BT FTP I understand OBEX file transfers. The great thing is that they're not found in the Other folder, and putting them there doesn't work. You have to copy them to the root directory (containing Pictures, Themes, Sounds, etc subdirectories) for the K700i to add them to remote control. Weird.

You can't send to the root directory. If you try to do so the K700i decides itself where to put them. Try sending a picture to the "root directory" and see.

@Robbie You think to use phone as a modem? If so, I got Belkin Bluetooth, and I have button Quick connect->Dialup Networking-> and I select my k7 from device list, and click dial, and the magic begins... Hope that helps you, even a little!

@teslaguy:

1. You can't send to the root directory.
2. If you try to do so the K700i decides itself where to put them.

Umm, (2) contradicts (1). In fact, to upload HID files for Remote Control, you HAVE to send them to the root directory BECAUSE you want the K700 to decide where to put them, namely in Remote Control. If you put them in the "Other" directory yourself, the HID files aren't found. Hence the problem with the developer document.

I have the MSI bluetooth dongle and can't get the remote control to work. It works when transfering files, syncronizing and can create a serial port, but when I try to use the remote control app from k700i is searches for bluetooth devices, then i select my computer, and it says bluetooth connection failed, then begins to search again.
My firmware is R1A. I have the latest drivers for the MSI dongle. The computer and the phone are paired.
Anyone can explain to me what am I doing wrong???? Again, except for that, everything seems to be in order with my bluetooth connections.

I found a remote control profile for Winamp on the net, which I downloaded and modified slightly to fit my needs. What I did was adding a Fullscreen button (Alt+Enter) and a Switch to TV output button (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F12). The latter shortcut is not a standard shortcut, it's just the one I chose for my nVidia graphics card. Finally, I replaced the background image with something more sleek and sexy. I did this because I use Winamp as my video player too and it's handy to be able to toggle full screen and TV mode.

If anyone's interested in trying it out, I can upload it to my server for you to download.
