Anyone knowif this update service would work on a voda branded phone?

Else where it has been said that there is a new voda firmware R2V001. But before I go trying to borrow a syncstation, I'd like confermation that it'd work.

there is nothing in the preliminary screens that says it won't work with a branded phone. My guess is that it should be no different than going to a service centre. But it will depend on what firmwares vodafone have released and you certainly won't be able to unbrand the phone using this service

YAAAAAY!! Me got R2L now!

@joe, Yes, I've literally just done it, so far so good! The main problem I'd found with R2A, the second or two freezing of the phone when buttons are pressed/menus navigated/text typed appears to have gone, phone seems a bit quicker to respond to button presses, so far so good!

One little question though - you know just after the update has finished, and the 'update completed' box comes up and your phone turns itself back on - was there anything else that needed doing after that, or any further screens that I should have navigated? The reason I'm asking is that my computer decided to reboot itself literally just after the update had been completed! Probably not 's fault, my computer does this on occasions, usually when something like a Syncstation has been used. At least it didn't do it while the update was in progress!

This is great news - especially since my local SE Service Centre can't update the firmware of K700 phones yet!

Just have to sit back and wait for my work colleague Darren to get back of his holidays so I can borrow his DSS-20

Two Questions

1. It say's i need (when running win xp) sp1, now i've got sp2 do you think there be any problems?

2. Do you think the k700 update will be here for good (has anyone seen any press release from or anything) or do you think its going to be taken down again?

1. I have sp2 and it went through the process (until it told me I already have the latest version) without issue

2. I was wondering that earlier too. Seems a bit of a weird way to deliver a service without really actually announcing it. So to answer that question... who knows really? we'll have to wait and see and everyone who has been waiting better get it while its available
