its not really that noticeable of a diff, except when more than one comp is using the connection.

main difference between 512k and 1mb/s will be when donwloading large files, 512k will donwload at about 60kb/s whereas 1mb/s connection will have a top download speed of around 100kb/s, makes a huge difference on a 600mb file.

i have a cable internet connection, i download @
1 megabyte/sec on a good day, about 100 kilobytes/sec on a bad day.

i did go from 56k --> 512kbs --> 8Mbit and itīs great !! full movie in 15-20 minutes on a god day
