Indeed, why is he only picking on

? What about NEC and LG, currently only producing phones in Britain for Three? What about Sharp, for Vodafone? What about o2 and the Xda? Its not only

, i'm afraid. As for releasing phones only in certain countries, im sure they would release their product all over the world if they could, but it just isnt possible. That would require standardisation of all countries communication networks to one system, and do you have any idea how big a job that would be? Neither do i, but the mind boggles just thinking about it

for starters... it would mean the USA military would have to budge... something not very likely to happen

yes thats what I was saying...sorry for my ranting but was really looking forward to a z600 successor & now this...
methylated_spirit: I was not really picking on SE its just the top brands dont do this (nokia/seimens,etc) whereas sony always was japan biased (the better tech phones always came there & then slowly crept into other normal markets) & now came up with this.. who knows maybe in some time they will produce different phones for different countries only...

oooooohhh again it's all Sony's fault! glad w ehave that established.
Now in japan there has been a large demand for technologically advanced gadgets, much more than elsewhere. This is why any tech company would release their products there first. In the case of phones there only, as other places do not have their network anyway.
Now like it or not....... but that is how things were.
This phone, which is apparently compatible with japans network and all others... is a ginat leap forward in that respect. And it's an

! What else do we want??
Oh yeah I know. We want Vodafone to get lost. Well let me tell you something. I dare say Vodafone has sponsored this phone a great deal. They will market this phone all the way. With Vodafone's brand name this phone will go a lot further than it could do on it's own. I think it's a great move by
And I don't really want all future

models to be for Vodafone. Of course not. I am not in the least bit worried about that btw. Why would

do that?
This is purely a marketing move. It might establish the

brand for 3G (and later 4G) models worldwide.
Who are we to deny

that chance? And here I was thinking this place was full of

fans
was I mistaken.......

Vlammetje - I concur! No one can beat the Japs when it comes to 'electronic' gadgetry - by any standards! Their 3g fones were introduced in the market years ago . . .
