Theres no clock on the S700.
Under the screensaver option theres only picture and none to choose from.
There is no clock so the phone can conserve its power which is why theres only the power save mode.

Yup. When the screen goes blank and when you see it happen the first time you think the phones screwed up. It happens while watching films on it as well. Have to turn the screensaver off before watching or it just goes blank until you open the phone.

I still can't understand why you would want a phone on which you can not see what it is doing or even the time unless you put it on (including unlocking the keys).
We have come a far way from the blinking green led which had more information on its' one pixel so to speak than the new colourscreen phones with their millions of colours. I just can't get myself to spending hundreds of euros on a phone that misses this basic functionality.

The clock powersave mode is essential.

I really am struck by this lack of functionality.
Except for the pictures (and even then - the T200 also works with the communicam and has a b&w screen) the colour screen does not add functionality.
Why not a phone with a really huge b&w screen (with 16 grey-tones or so) that can be always on and shows everything like phones always did? THAT would be functionality. Long lasting batteries as a plus. And give it white backlights and it looks good too. In fact an evolution of the screen of the T65 or those huge r520-somethings.
I admit, the colour screens are really beautiful and attractive but they carry some severe disadvantages. And no I wouldn't go back to a b&w computer screen or TV, but a mobile phone has a different kind of information to display.
Edit: I have seen colour mobiles from other brands that display an envelope next to the clock when an sms has arrived or you mised a call or anything that demands attention. That can't be so hard for se engineers to work out, can it?

The k700i does that when the screen is on automatic...
