No you dont need to buy the firmware files

These are for the UK firmware

Once i had de-branded my phone i then used the online update and it put R2M on my phone so yes it is out

Heard that you cannot update a debranded phone to an unbranded fw. How did you get around this? Your phone is still locked right? This message was posted from a T230

err by using the guide i posted on my initial post.

That then meant i had a debranded phone and then it let me use the online update as well to get the very latest firmware
