so orange do not give discounts when upgrading?
i would have thought an upgrade would have been quite a bit cheaper than that.

I'm getting the orange p910 this week- got one reserved at the shop. Getting it for £250 -£75 for refering a friend and -£50 for trading in a crap old phone. Which means I get it for a grand sum of £125 on any £25 quid contract!

Cant be beaten!

Also got a p900 and t630 looming my midst.

what does refering a friend involve?
do they have to join orange?
or just recomend orange to them?
and is this true with all orange stores?
thanks.

Lol I saw this thread and thought that someone modded their P910 and painted it orange (I'm in the states so the first thing I think of when I hear orange is a color...maybe a fruit ) I was thinking "oh man, I gotta see this, it's either really cool or a damn ugly shame!

Hi, I'm ecstatic coz I was getting itchy and almost gave in to getting the p910 last week from an ornage shop but have been promised it for free today to be delivered thurs. I was with orange over a year with my p800 on plan400. As an aside to ensure my preperation I am about to synch the contacts list.Last time I did this it wiped my contacts clean out so if anyone can advise the correct procedure or how to put the contatcs onto the sim I would be grateful, thanks.

Orange retail stores typically will not give discounts, however both Orange Upgrades and Retentions over the phone can give discounts. The discount given depends on your circumstances - things like your talk plan and what your monthly spend is. Retentions obviously have more power to discount more than upgrades and my understanding is that both departments have different methods of calculating the discount available to you.
It has been said that from 1st October people who Orange classify as low spenders will also be asked to pay a £50+vat "upgrade fee" on top of the handset cost - even if you are out of contact up to 18 months in.
