Sony's Vaio 'Type X'Launches today. A Pentium 4 at 3.60GHz comprises the heart of this beefy PVR, with 1GB DDR and 1TB (4x250GB RAID 0) of storage standard—welcome to the future, where you can simultaneously record up to seven programs at once and store so many of them that you'll likely deplete national bon-bon supplies. If that weren't enough, the Type X also comes bundled with Adobe Premiere to edit as you please, and your choice of flat-panel display as an add-on, ranging in size from 17 to 23 inches. You won't be able to get one in the States, baring import, and the price is unclear. Rumors of a $4,000 price point (without display) have surfaced, and up to twice that with the big 23" HD display and storage tricked out to 1.3TB

Check out the excellent site!.In japanese but some great pics to look at!

eHomeUpgrade reports about Snapstream's Medusa 6 Tuner PVR do it yourself guide.

Quote:
"Ok everyone... take out your notepads because SnapStream has put together a killer “how to” on creating your own 6 TV tuner monster Personal Video Recorder (PVR) called the Medusa PVR using off the shelf hardware components and their latest Beyond TV 3.5 PVR application for Windows XP. So if you've been drooling over the $4,000+ Sony 7 TV tuner VIAO Type X, which you can only buy in Japan, or thought you could make your own for a fraction price, then this article is for you."
